The route starts in the shelter of the Basseta, from where it begins a long descent into the valley along a track that takes the north. We are now in the watershed of the Noguera Pallaresa, but we're still in the Alt Urgell. When we crossed the river of Santa Magalena, also known as Ribalera, is the cross-border between the two regions. We are at an altitude of 1500: from this moment begins a gentle ascent to find the hermitage of Santa Magdalena, located in a wonderful crossroads. The church is all that remains of the former monastery-hospital La Vaell, the order of St. John of Jerusalem, a twelfth-century foundation. It was abandoned in the mid-fourteenth century, probably because of the plague. The church was rebuilt in the eighteenth century, and every year a procession that brings people of all Ribalera.
The best start now. We take the trail on the left, amounting decisively to the northwest and reach the Creu de Bedet. We have in front Coll de Su, where would drop to Farrera. But instead of heading to Coma de Burg, take the track to the east, below the heights the Borrissoi and the Bony del Collar. We have in front the hill Salambó. The track passes over the cottages of Plana and Bedet -a set of unusually well preserved constructions-, and go after them Olles River. Ascending the river, we will arrive to Coll de Conflent, at the foot of Salòria, but instead continue to rise, we continue heading south. We passed the cottages of Jussà in Civís term, and we find the river Gireni. At one point we will find the hermitage of Santa Magdalena. To Basseta, we expected a rise succulent, long but contained...
